There's a contradiction to the act of seduction. Seduce comes from the latin word "seducere" which translates as "to lead astray." The act of seduction is to lead someone astray, and in imitating the siren, a girl is in danger of seducing herself. Of leading herself astray.

There was a time in my early teenage years that I found myself in the community of "high value women" whose goal in life was to secure a "high value man." There was one youtuber I watched in particular whose whole thing was "femininity" and "how to be feminine." I recently went back to her channel for nostalgias sake and I realized that all of her videos were completely male centered. Absolutely no hate to this woman or her content, but that view of femininity is so damaging to women and how they view their own self worth. If your goal in life, or even your goal for one season of life, is to seduce a "high value man..." you ascribe your whole worth to the worth of a man. An imaginary man no less.

And what's so frustrating is they use vocabulary words that should only be used when centered around females and the female experience. "Goddess" "mezmerize him" "hypnotize him." It's not self love to

There is an element of femininity that lends itself beautifully to performance, but I fear that some women are beginning to view their womanhood as a performance in its entirety. You are large, you contain multitudes.* Perform on occasion, relax in the everyday.

Please, dear siren, do not settle for the puddles of male desire when you were made for something so much deeper. You were not created to seduce. You were created to sing, to fly, to find home in the depths of the ocean.

So if you seduce, seduce by being totally enraptured with yourself and your life. Make a life for yourself so beautiful that it seduces you, that it leads you astray. And if a man follows you into that life, let it not be because you guided him there, but because he chose from a place of truth and honor.
